Attending childbirth education classes can make a world of difference in the outcomes of your baby's birth.  When you attend classes and prepare for birth, the experience becomes yours.  Your vision for your baby's birth is an important part of the process, and we'll help you to understand what you need to know to navigate the birth process and leave the myths and cultural misperceptions behind.

The CVLA and The Nest and Company partnership - CVLA also operates Baby Café Bakersfield, and CVLA is a division of WarmLine and LaCresta Foundation.

It is recommended that you register for a series which ends at least 3 weeks prior to your expected due date.  If you can complete a series early in your third trimester, that is preferable.

Please bring a pillow or floor cushion if you have one.  If you do not have one, we have a few that you can use.

Breastfeeding is a journey which begins before your baby is even born.  When you attend a breastfeeding class, you will know what to expect from your baby and your body during the first hours of breastfeeding.  Our class offers information designed to help you all along the way, from how to know your baby is latching and sucking well, to understanding your baby's feeding patterns and navigating the changes that happen in your breasts.  You will leave knowing how to get help with breastfeeding while you are in the hospital, after you have gone home, and the importance and value of attending a support group like Baby Café Bakersfield.

You are welcome to sign up only for the breastfeeding class on its own!
